A design challenge to up-cycle Nike footwear materials into an avant-garde look for the Portland Style Awards. Focusing on silhouette and textiles as the main design tools for an experimental silhouette and aesthetic.
Concept
An exaggeration of a utilitarian mood providing visual intensity, minimalism, and futurism.
Textiles
Teflon for texture, transparent plastic for dimension, and vinyl for a structured silhouette. Using these fabrics pushed my understanding and technical skills of sewing and patterning apparel.
